I purchased the APP PLUS the Premium and I don't think anything's working properly. I shut off YouTube and Safari on the Ipod Touch through General Restrictions, but it's not showing up within Mobicip so that he can browse the way in which we set the filter up . .  please advise.

Search "strip tease" In YouTube

I just added the mobicip app to both my kids Itouches. One is set for Middle school filter, the other is set for elementary filter. I want to allow the filtered "safe" YouTube advertised on your site, however when did a test search and typed "strip tease" it provided a number of accessible videos for both filters. The vast majority of the videos were blocked, however I was very disappointed that there still were a number allowed through the filters. Is ther anything that can be done about this? I will also be posting a separate concern about the dictionary allowing the f-word, s-word and others... Thanks

Re: Search 'strip tease' in YouTube

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you are having. We have requested our dev team to look into the search keyword 'strip tease' and have requested them to block the word asap. We constantly update our filtering algorithms to catch inappropriate content, but rarely one or two get through somehow. We will keep you posted on updates regarding this.

Regarding searching for f*** and s*** words on dictionary.com, we tried doing the same in the most lenient high school level and Mobicip blocks the search instantly. Can you please let us know the steps you followed that allowed you to view the results on Mobicip?

Re: Youtube problems

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. Please note that Mobicip is just like Safari or any other browser on your Apple device in terms of functionality. It goes a step further by providing filtered internet content. If you would like to visit Youtube, please type youtube.com in the address bar on the Mobicip app and you will be taken to the website. The videos that will come up will be filtered for content. We suspect that you were expecting Youtube in the list on our homepage, but you just need to type in youtube.com to go to the website directly.

Please send an email to Mobicip Support if you still have issues and we will investigate further asap.

Apps problems

I'm new in this,  so there may be things that I ask, but they are there and I don't notice. From what I read about youtube, there is no app after filtering? Does my daughter needs to type "youtube.com" every time she uses it? Instead of the convenience of just pressing an app, which is one of the nice things of tablets, ipod touch, etc.

Also, the app for the app store, how do I get it back for my daughter? I want her to install and uninstall apps.

And I think I'm doing something wrong, I typed "Disney" and the site is blocked. I typed jewelry, which is something I blocked and it's not blocked.

Thank you.

Re: Apps problems

Hello ncespedes,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please note that Mobicip's filter works only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device including Safari/Youtube app. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, Apple does not allow us to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple's mobile devices.

So, you may need to type in youtube.com in Mobicip browser to have filtered content. Unfortunately, Mobicip does not have the option to put an icon on your home screen due to the restrictions set by Apple. The only alternative available at this time is to bookmark your favorite websites by touching the '+' icon at the bottom of the app.

Moving on to your other concern - To re-enable App store back in your device, please launch the Settings app >> touch General >> Restrictions >> enter the 4 digit restrictions pass code >> change the option 'Installing Apps' to ON. Our best recommendation at this point is to download the apps your daughter wants and then turn it off. You can always re-enable the App Store temporarily when your daughter wants to download other apps, and then lock it back again when she is done. At this time, that is the best way to ensure that no alternative browsers are installed without your knowledge.

If App store is left available in your daughter's device, she can download any free browser from there and it totally voids the point of having a filtered browser. For instance, Google app is rated 4+ but it acts a browser and allows access to all kind of inappropriate content. This is an issue with almost all apps that have their own browsers. This is the reason why we recommend our users to disable/delete all other browsers available/downloaded onto the device and make Mobicip as the only window available for filtered internet access. Likewise, if the option of 'Deleting Apps' is ON, your daughter can delete Mobicip app without your knowledge.

Reg the websites - we may need to look into your account settings to identify the exact cause of the issue. Please let us know your Mobicip - registered email id and we will investigate further asap. You can either respond back here or send us an email to Mobicip Support via your registered email id.

Please let us know if this answer your questions. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.

Blocked videos can be watched

I bought the mobicip app for my daughter in her iPod touch. I was very happy with it and still am to an extent but there is a major problem with it. If my daughter is on YouTube website through  mobicip, she searches lets say for "Selene Gomez", the results turn out some with blocked videos and some not. But if she clicks on the blocked videos they load and some horrible things show. One video had oozing blood everywhere. My question to mobicip is how come all blocked videos end up loading and ready to watch.  Kindly advise. Thank you.

You tube videos not blocked

Hello. I just purchased mobicip premium today, and the first test i ran was to check that youtube videos were blocked. Set on elementary school level, jus going to www.youtube.com shows thumbnails that are "blocked", however if you click on these blocked videos they still play! Is there some other setting i need to enable to keep "blocked" videos from playing?
