My son's need YouTube on their iPads for school. When I typed "boobs" into the YouTube search all kinds of nudity appeared. How do we filter within these APPS? I have the APP filter installed and a Premium account.
Please note that Mobicip's filter works only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, we are not allowed to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple's/Android mobile devices.
Basically, you will have to delete/disable Youtube app in your device and access youtube.com through Mobicip app. Mobicip filters YouTube by reviewing the title, description, comments and other meta information associated with each video. In most cases, the publisher would include suggestive words and phrases with the video and it would be blocked by Mobicip. Like any filtering product, Mobicip filters the content on a best effort basis and goes beyond most other products in terms of the quality of filtering. Mobicip is the only filtering product that offers YouTube filtering on a video-by-video basis.
I am unable to get the sub categories to open to filter you tube. At this time I have it completely bloacked but would like to try the individual filters, how do I solve this?
We apologize for the confusion caused. You need not manually apply any Youtube filter. Youtube filtering is already in place in Mobicip Safe Browser. Please type in youtube.com in the address bar of Mobicip app and access videos like you usually do. Inappropriate videos/content will be filtering by Mobicip.
After we made changes to our filtering servers to filter Youtube videos, we have allowed Youtube at all three filtering levels. Please note that the filtering will be very stringent at the strict level and will allow a few more videos at the moderate level and will be even more lenient in the mature level.
