From your description, it appears that Safari is still enabled on your kid's iPod Touch? If that is the case, we recommend that you follow the instructions in this tutorial to restrict Safari and make Mobicip the default browser on the device. In addition, please configure other parental control restrictions on the device as described and based on your preferences.
If you are able to access the website using Mobicip, please let us know the specific website. We will make sure that our dev team investigates the issue.
After 2 hours of trying to figure out this problem as well as others, I found the solution, (at least the one for my son's new iPod Touch).
Problems I was having after installing mobicip application exactly as directed and upgrading to Premium subscription:
~Upgrade now link was still showing on the mobicip.com Web Monitor.
~Websites added to blocked list were still accessible on iPod Touch.
~No usage data showed on mobicip.com Web Monitor.
The fix was changing the Registered Device Name in the mobicip.com Web Monitor to match exactly what the Device Name showed on the iPod Touch. In my particular case, the Web Monitor showed my son's device as iPhone-1 (no spaces). However, the Device Name on the iPod Touch showed iPhone- 1(space between the hyphen and the numeral 1).
To find your Device Name on the device itself:
A. Open the mobicip browser.
B. Click the small information icon at the lower-right of the screen.
C. Click Settings.
D. Note EXACTLY how the characters in the Device Name field are spelled and spaced.
To correct the Device Name on the mobicip Web Monitor:
A. Log into your account on mobicip.com.
B. Navigate to the Devices link on the left side of the page.
C. Change the Device Name on this page to match EXACTLY what it is on your device in the mobicip application settings as described above.
I hope this helps to resolve future issues and if so, please leave a message here stating so. I love knowing that I was able to help someone reslove an issue with little research invested, especially for a great application such as this one:)
Thank you for your kind comment and for posting your solution on this forum. We are not really sure if the problem exists as stated and if your solution is correct for all users. Our dev team is investigating the problem anyway and we will post an update here asap.
Thanks for your enthusiastic feedback and intent to help other users. It is much appreciated!
If certain websites are located which are deemed pornogrpahic in nature do you want to know what their URL's are (as well as them being blocked for an individual user). If so where is the appropriate place to send this information??
If you do find a website that is being incorrectly allowed, please send an email to support(at)mobicip.com and we will look to resolve it immediately. Please note that we automatically review new sites to update our database and algorithms, but if you can highlight particular sites it will certainly help highlight it and speed up the review process.
I'm having the same problem, I was wondering if the customer support already help you, because I'm trying to post a comment but it doesn't let me for some reason, please can you help me?
Please contact us at support(at)mobicip.com and we will be happy to assist you. You can always post on this forum as well and we try to respond promptly, but a direct email to support would get the fastest response.
