Re: Update on version for web OS?

Hello bowmans1,

Thank you for your interest in Mobicip. Unfortunately, Mobicip will not work on Web OS as of now and we do not have any plans to support it in the near future. We have forwarded your request to our dev team and we will keep you posted if we start working on supporting Web OS.

HP just announce they are

HP just announce they are releasing the open source for WebOS. http://gizmodo.com/5866723/webos-lives does this change anything ? I read you already made the program for WebOS forums.hpwebos.com/t5/webOS-Software/Parental-control-software-for-WebOS/td-p/255956/page/2 "It is encouraging to see support for parental controls from the Palm user community. Mobicip.com - a popular internet filter for mobile devices - has a parental controls solution for Web OS. However, it is a kernel level solution and we need HP/Palm to deploy the solution as it cannot be installed by end users for security and access privilege reasons. We have tried to get in touch with the dev team several times but with no success. If someone from Palm sees this message, please contact Mobicip at contact@mobicip.com. We will work with you to solve this problem for parents and educators."

Re: Any word on this?

Unfortunately, we do not have any updates regarding this at this time. Please read below, a brief info on where we stand:

Web OS has a Linux kernel. We met with Palm engineers some time ago and discussed the possibility of deploying Mobicip on Web OS. But they didn't show any interest when we followed up. We are interested in developing for WebOS, but it is low on the priority list. Also, the fact that Web OS is now an open-source project does not help (or hinder) with deploying Mobicip. Carriers or handset makers should still include the Mobicip kernel in the OS package. We have had a tough time pushing for kernel-level support on the popular Android OS, and we don't expect that to happen easily for WebOS.
