uninstalling mobicip (Windows 8.1)

I

I am evaluating mobicip on windows 8.1 after a trial run and usage approximately 2 years ago on a windows 7 machine. so far it seems to do a pretty decent job at filtering, including blocking local proxies. I then tested out the uninstall. I was surprised when I went into the control panel and selected to uninstall it, and it proceeded without any security check (e.g. asking for a password). I guess the assumption is only the administrator would have access to the uninstall feature of the control panel. Still I find this a little worrisome. Any savvy teen could bypass this. The uninstall got hung up at some point (54%?). I tried to cancel, but no luck. I tried to end the task, finally had to log out. Now when I tried to install again, it states that there is an installation already underway. The program is not listed in the control panel, nor is it present in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory. So now I am a bit stuck. Two questions: 1. Did I do the uninstall wrong? Is it supposed to be password protected? 2. How do I cleanup the current "installation"?

Re: Re: uninstalling mobicip (Windows 8.1)

Hello Michael,

It appears that rebooting your computer reset the installer and resolved your issue. We are glad to know that you were not able to uninstall Mobicip even after trying through Ultrasurf (a very popular private/anonymous surfing tool used to bypass most proxies/firewalls).

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance and we will be happy to help. Thank you for choosing Mobicip.
