I
I am evaluating mobicip on windows 8.1 after a trial run and usage approximately 2 years ago on a windows 7 machine. so far it seems to do a pretty decent job at filtering, including blocking local proxies. I then tested out the uninstall. I was surprised when I went into the control panel and selected to uninstall it, and it proceeded without any security check (e.g. asking for a password). I guess the assumption is only the administrator would have access to the uninstall feature of the control panel. Still I find this a little worrisome. Any savvy teen could bypass this. The uninstall got hung up at some point (54%?). I tried to cancel, but no luck. I tried to end the task, finally had to log out. Now when I tried to install again, it states that there is an installation already underway. The program is not listed in the control panel, nor is it present in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory. So now I am a bit stuck. Two questions: 1. Did I do the uninstall wrong? Is it supposed to be password protected? 2. How do I cleanup the current "installation"?
