Need to move premium license from dead device to new device

Forums:

  • Technical Support

We had a premium license on an idevice which was accidentally drowned by soap bubbles and water.
We have a new device, and would like to have it take over the old device's premium subscription.
I do not see how to accomplish this via the website.
Thanks.

same problem

I have the same problem as the OP.  My sons iphone died and we got a replacement.  Restored our backup onto it with iTunes so it has the same name, etc.  now i see that it has not reported since the change and i have two phones with the same name, one of which says i need to buy premium.  Can you help me move my subscription?

Re: Need to move premium license from dead device to new device

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. We do not have the option where our users can transfer the premium subscription between devices right now. We are planning to change this in the future and our dev team is working on this. In the meantime, the only way for our users to transfer their premium subscriptions is to send an email to Mobicip Support requesting the transfer and we will take care of the transfer immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will post an update as soon as we make changes to our website and allow users to do premium transfers from their Mobicip account.

Remove all devices for my account

My son and daughter have both upgraded from ipod touch 3rd gen to ipod touch 4th gen. They are selling their 3rd gen ipods and will no longer need to have the mobicip app installed on either of those devices and we no longer need those devices listed in the device list page on the mobicip web page.

I could not find instructions for moving the mobile app from the 3rd gen to the 4th gen ipod touches. I finally opted to pay an additonal $4.99 to download the mobicip app to one of the new 4th gen devices. Once installed and configured, the new device appeared in the website device list but was listed with BASIC service, while each of the original devices was listed as having PREMIUM service. I then tested the browser to see if a particular site was blocked, and it was, as desired, yet the block was never listed in the reports on the website. (I am very confused at this time.)

I then tried to remove all three existing profiles associated with the two 3rd gen devices and the single 4th gen device but could not remove the final (3rd) profile so as to clear the entire page so as to start fresh.

Eventually I joined this forum and searched for "remove device" only to find out that this is not yet possible via the website.

I am now sending this message to you to request that all devices and profiles be removed from my account.  I intend to unistall the Mobicip app from each of the 3rd gen devices since they will be sold. Afterwards, I will install the Mobicip app on each of my children's new (4th gen) devices with the hopes that they will be recognized as new devices on the website and that my original subscription(s) will be applied toward the new devices as having premium service.

IF THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT SOLUTION, PLEASE ADVICE ME ON THE PROPER WAY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS. WILL i BE CHARGED YET AGAIN WHEN DOWNLOADING THE APP TO MY 4TH GEN DEVICES EVEN THOUGH i HAVE ALREADY PAID WHEN DOWNLOADING THE APP TO THE 3RD GEN DEVICES?

Thanks.

Assistance Needed.

I'm having several issues right now, in addition to not knowing where to post my question.

I currently use Mobicip on both my daughter's iTouch devices and also on my older daughter's iPad. I am getting my oldest daughter an iPhone and am attempting to install Mobicip on it as well. I installed the app and purchased the premium subscription but could not get it to start catalogging the sites I was visiting or show that the device was supposed to be under my older daughter's name. My account shows that it is a premium account and it is listed under devices, but not users.

I went on the device and the correct user was selected but it never appeared correct on my account no matter what i did.

Then I selected my younger daughter's account just to see what would happen and my older daughter's account dissappered entirely and I cannot even see it on the device any more. I only have the option to select between my two youngest daughters.

My online account still looks normal (minus not correctly adding the iPhone).
