Ineffective -- how do you report unblocked porn?

Forums:

  • Filtering policy

On of the features I really like about K9 is that you can report a site for recategorization (on the computer version, although not the iPhone version).  I can't see any way to do that with Mobicip.  I have found that there are an awful lot of blogs on the tumblr site that are straight out porn.  I was able to get to one of those sites this morning, so I went looking for a way to report it and I couldn't find one.  I also found, checking the links of "blogs that follow this one", all of which were also pron, some of them were blocked but some were not.  I realize that I could block all of tumblr with a blacklist if I bought the premium subscription, or I could block individual ones as I found them, but there ought to be a way to report outright porn that your filter misses.

Here's a site that is blocked at the high school level,

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-pensions-gannon-20110922...

Really, a newspaper story about union pensions is not sutiable for high school students?

I use K9 from Bluecoat on my computer, but prefer Mobicip on my iPhone.  K9 provides a feedback mechanism to submit web sites for a recheck, either because it is not blocked when it should be, or because it is blocked when it should not be.

I can find no such mechanism for Mobicip.  This is a problem because I have found unblocked porn, and because you are stupidly blocking a newspaper web site.  I could buy a premium subscription to customize my blocks, but why should I do that just to fix your simplest mistakes?

Re: Follow up

Thank you for sending across the list of websites through email. We believe that we took necessary steps to block/unblock the websites you sited in your email.

Regarding the chicagotribune website, our dev team got back to us and informed that it was blocked by Mobicip, since it has a link 'Sex and Relationships' in its home page. We are working on just blocking the particular webpage and allowing the actual website. We will get back to you once we fine-tune our filtering algorithm to allow the website.

As you can see, our email support is the means where users can report incorrectly allowed/blocked websites and we make sure that the concerns are addressed asap. We hope that we have been successful in that aspect.

We really appreciate your help in enhancing our filter. Please bear with us and we promise to resolve the issue with the website chicagotribune.com soon.
