How do I search for a website to see why it's blocked and how do I submit a site for review?

Forums:

  • Filtering policy

How does someone find out why a site is blocked?  There should be a form were anyone can enter a domain and the classification will be listed.  I ask because I find that many sites that I can find nothing wrong with are being blocked at the high school level.  Also, I can't find any method on your website to submit a site for review (or re-review if it's already been classified).  It seems very odd to me that so much is being hidden from both the Modicip site as well as the FOSI site.  It's like both Modicip and FOSI have a "you're only going to get what we allow and you're going to like it" attitude.  Why not be open with us?  Show us why you block sites, maybe there's a very good reason that I'm not aware of by simply looking at the site myself.  But, the way it is now we're totally left in the dark.  Shouldn't webmasters have some ability to rate their site or something to avoid most of these problems?

Anyway, the way it is now, it's just not working.  There's too many sites to whitelist and blacklist.  That's what we're supposed to be paying you for!  What are there, like 100 billion sites out there?  You want all your users to spend the time to whitelist and blacklist them all?  If so, why even buy your product?  I just don't get it.  There should be at a minimum a domain search with a report and the ability to report a site as bad or clean needing it to be looked at again.  Being left in the dark with a mountain of domains to configure on our own makes Modicip just not worth it.

Sorry, not a happy customer.

Tim

Random new blocking

It would be nice to know why something is blocked. Yahoo's fantasy football site has been working fine all season on the middle school setting but suddenly it started getting blocked even on the high school setting.

Pokemon

pokemon sites are blocked even at the high school level? Is there a way to unblock Pokemon without having to whitelist individual sites?
