If my daughter is looking at a website that Mobicip deems to be unsuitable it pops up asking for a 4 digit passcode to allow me as the parent to over ride the blocking.  I have forgotten the 4-digit passcode and cannot find anywhere that I can change the samecode.  Please help!!

Re: How do I change my 4-digit passcode?

You can try to remember or get the passcode somehow. If not, the only other option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings. See this article on Apple's support website describing this feature.

Follow the instructions in this article to restore the device to factory settings.

Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Please make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

We guess that you have setup website filtering using the default Restrictions feature. You can access this feature by going to the device Settings > General > Restrictions > Websites.

When you use this option, there is some rudimentary filtering performed by the iOS itself. So even if a particular website is allowed by Mobicip, it may be blocked by iOS and that's why the passcode screen comes up. To prevent this type of blocking, you can set the feature to 'Allow all websites' and rely on Mobicip to do all the filtering.

Re: Change passcode

Hello Terry
To change your current restrictions passcode to a new one, launch the Settings app >> General >> Restrictions >> enter the 4 digit restrictions passcode >> Disable Restrictions. Then come back to the home screen again. You can now follow the same steps mentioned above to enable the restrictions with a new pass code of your choice.

Re: I can't remember my 4 digit

We believe that you are referring to iOS device passcode. Please note that the 4 digit restrictions passcode is part of iOS itself and not Mobicip.

passcode

How do I do this on an Android device? Actually, what I really want to know is how to disable the passcode....why is it requiring a passcode for every game my son wants to download?

Re: passcode

Hello Beth
Please note that that this is a concept in our new version to avoid apps being pushed from Google Play website store remotely and downloaded onto the device. In the update, we will be blocking all newly installed apps by default, even if 'Installing apps' option is unchecked.

If you wish to unblock this option, please launch the Mobicip app > Menu > Settings > Mobicip > Uncheck the box next to 'Block new apps'. Then new apps will not be blocked by Mobicip.

How to change passcode on android device / motorola phone.

Just checking to see the procedure to change a passcode. I remember the code, but so does my son, so I need to change it. When I change it, does it change the passcode on my daughter's phone too, or just his device?

Thanks,

Marc
