Why does the MobiCip option for "Clear Cookies" not remove Google Search tracking cookies?
All of my desktop browsers are set clear all cookies when I close the browser. If cookies are left enabled between sessions, each time I go back to google search, even if I never have a Google account nor any Google logins, Google search cookies are still used on my desktop browser. With these cookies, google can track my search results between sessions, and I in the google search box I see the same search terms from yesterday in my desktop web browser. So if I were to search for "Dog", two weeks from that search, back in the google search box, "Dog" is offered as part of my past search history. Yes this is how it is with cookies enabled, no conspiracy here. As such my preference is to clear all cookies each time I close the web browser application on all my desktop/laptop computers. I never see old search results from Google, and it makes it harder for Google to assign a cookie to any single desktop computer, laptop computer that I own. At best they can track my IP, but get no stored cookies from me. Perfectly ok with me.
However, I was very surprised to see that in the iPad MobiCip browser, even after I choose clear history, clear cookies, and clear search in the MobiCip app.... back in the google search, I see a list of all past search driven from those pesky google cookies.
Apples IOS safari also did this same thing! The only way to block this was to use private browsing.
Why does MobiCip not erase these google cookies? What purpose is there for having a child / minor web browser that lets a third party track my kid's interest and provide me no parent not control over this third party data?
Try it for yourself. In the MobiCip browser top url / search box, enter a search term "Starlight". If google is the search engine you will see a list of typical google search results. Now in this same results page you should have another google search box at the top of the results. This search box is served from Google web services not MobiCip. If you click in this search box you will see a list of unique search results from your MobiCip browser history. This information is tracked by google for you as a user of Google services. This is unique to you (or your browser) even if you do not have a Google account, nor are logged into Google services, that’s just the way Google and cookies work. You will see the last three items you searched for from Google. You have an option to delete these one at a time, and it will be replaced with the next oldest search item. This can go on forever. You can then use MobiCip clear History, clear cookies, clear cache options and then go back to this search result page and all the search history from google is still retained, “Starlight” should be in your top three search history results.
This does not happen on any desktop web browser that allows you to clear history and cookies.
Why in the world does MobiCip not provide a private mode for managing cookies, or why in the world does MobiCip not completely erase these Google tracking cookies. And if by chance Google is creating unique identifying vectors base on the user + MobiCip Browser installed, why does the MobiCip browser not provide a way to anonymize this by using a private mode or resetting unique data after cookies or history are cleared in the MobiCip browser.
