EVERY website blocked???

Forums:

  • Technical Support

All settings are correct in our premium account.  Almost all boxes are unchecked except Pornography and both devices have been working just fine for weeks, and all of a sudden today both devices are not even able to access Google, Yahoo, or even Mobicip.com itself!!

Devices: iPad2 w/ iOS5, iPhone4s w/ iOS5

Re: EVERY website blocked??

We sincerely apologize for the delay in replying to your forum post. We find it quite concerning that all the websites were blocked when you haven't made any changes to your settings. We have requested our dev team to look into this issue asap and will get back to you with an update as soon as we hear from them.

Re: EVERY website blocked??

Hello WynterB,

This is in response to the issue you reported that all websites were blocked on Mobicip. We already sent the update to your email address. However, copying our reply here as it would be helpful for other users who face similar kind of issue.

Our dev team investigated the cause of the issue and mentioned that the option 'White-list only mode' was checked in your account and hence all websites except the one you had in the white-list (craigslist.com) were blocked for the reason 'Blacklisted URL'. Now the option being unchecked, we see in your reports page that you are able to access the internet without any issues.

Please let us know if the problem is resolved now. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further. We appreciate your patience as we worked on investigating this issue.

Same issue

I'm having the same problem, but I did verify that the "only allow websites" check box is unchecked.

Re: i am having same problem

Hello Tony,

We apologize for any confusion/inconvenience caused. We checked your account and see that many image search webpages were blocked by Mobicip. However, we do see some websites being allowed as well. You can check this for yourself by logging into your Mobicip account at www.mobicip.com >> Reports >> change 'Select Type' tab as 'Allowed'. You will be able to view the list of websites that were allowed by Mobicip in your device 'TONY-HP'. This indicates that Mobicip filter is working as it is supposed to. Also try accessing normal sites like google.com, yahoo.com, disney.com and check if they are allowed for your son.

If the problem still persists, please let us know and we will investigate further asap. We really appreciate your help and patience as we work towards your satisfaction.

Re: Blocking things I've already been on

Hello Trenton,

We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We have created a support ticket for the issue you reported and have sent an email to your email id mooretrenton@waylandunion.org, as per your request.

Please let us know the specific Yahoo page that was blocked for you and we will investigate further asap. Also, let us know your Mobicip - registered email id, so that we can look into your account settings and isolate the cause faster.

Please note that Mobicip's filter is dynamic and it filters each webspage based on the content on the page at the time of access. We believe that there may have been some inappropriate words/phrases in the page that may have caused Mobicip to block it when you accessed. Our filter works on algorithms that gives weightage to each questionable word and when the number of those inappropriate words exceed the limit, the filter will block the page.

We appreciate your help and patience as we work towards your satisfaction.
