Chromebook setup CA certificate error

Forums:

  • Technical Support

it was working fine, but then all of a sudden, after latest chrome update stopped working.

I try to redownload the certificate...when i click import, it doesnt see it. I change PKCS#12 to all files (and i also tried renaming one of them to .p12).

When i tried to open the certificate, i get an error "Please enter the password that was used to encrypt this certificate file."

no matter what password i try, it says "invalid or corrupt file".   I can't browse websites at all.

Same problem - private key missing, SSL certificate problem

I am having the same problem.  Just purchased a brand new Chromebook and there is private key or code missing which does not allow the certificate to download.  Can't use this laptop until this gets solved. Please help ASAP.

Re: Same problem - private key missing, SSL certificate problem

Hello Sarah

Sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you. This issue occurs when you try to import the certificate under 'Your Certificates' tab. You should be importing it from Authorities tab.

We suggest you to give one more try and check if it helps. Please follow the steps to import the certificate, once downloaded.
1. Go to chrome://settings/certificates
2. Click on 'Import' in the path Certificate Manager > Authorities
3. Select the downloaded certificate and click open.
4. Choose the option 'Trust this certificate for identifying websites' and click Ok.

In case the issue persists, please send us an email with the screenshot of the specific error page and we will investigate further. We really appreciate your help and patience as we work towards your satisfaction.
