Forums:
Hello, I'm considering Mobicip, but I'm trying to figure out if it blocks wireless access points. That is, I have completely shut off Safari through restrictions, but there is a loophole if the phone connects to a wireless hotspot outside of our home. For example, if you go to a hotel (or a Starbucks) and try to connect to the wireless, the phone will open up the browser to allow you to enter in your room number or otherwise connect to the network. But then you can surf as much as you want inside that opened brower, without restrictions--no matter what the restricted settings actually are.
Does Mobicip solve this problem? If you connect to hotel wireless, will the browser open up Mobicip? If not, do you have any suggestions as to how to deal with this issue?
Thanks!

Re: Blocking Hotel Wireless Networks
If setup correctly, the default Safari browser should be disabled and Mobicip should be the only browser available on the device. Mobicip is just like any other browser app/software available on the device. It is agnostic to the type of network being used, whether it is home WiFi or a hotspot. All the settings will still be intact irrespective of the network used. In others words, inappropriate content will be blocked at any type of network as long as Mobicip app is used for accessing internet.
