App store disappeared

The app store on my daughter's iPod has disappeared from the device after installing the Mobicip monitoring program. How can I get the app store back on the device? She needs the app store in order to get updates for the games she already has installed on the ipod.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Re: App store disappeared

We apologize for confusion caused. We suspect that the option 'Installing apps' option might be disabled on your device. To re-enable it back, please launch the Settings app >> touch General >> Restrictions >> enter the 4 digit restrictions passcode >> change the option 'Installing Apps' to ON.

Our best recommendation at this point is to download the apps/games your kids want and then turn off the App Store by following the same steps mentioned above. You can always re-enable the App Store temporarily when your daughter wants to download other apps, and then lock it back again when she is done. At this time, that is the best way to ensure that no alternative browsers are installed without your knowledge.

If App store is left available in the device, she can download any free browser from there and it totally voids the point of having a filtered browser. For instance, Google app is rated 4+ but it acts as a browser and allows access to all kind of inappropriate content. This is an issue with almost all apps that have their own browsers. This is the reason why we recommend our users to disable/delete all other browsers available/downloaded onto the device and make Mobicip as the only window available for filtered internet access.

My daughter's iPhone X needs

My daughter's iPhone X needs to update Mobicip, but it doesn't have the app store on it in order to do the update/download.

Re: My daughter's iPhone X needs

Hello Ryan,

Turning 'Installing Apps' option off will hide the App Store icon from the screen. When updates are available for apps, the notifications are shown on the App Store icon, and when the icon is missing, the notifications do not appear either.

Having said that, the workaround is very easy as well. All you need to do is turn ON the "Installing Apps" option once in a while (say, once a week or once a month), launch the App Store, and accept all available updates. It should only take a minute to do this, but it does have to be done manually and on a periodic basis.

Apps disappeared after blocked time over

Hello,

When I lessened Mobicip restrictions on my son's iPhone it made me reset all the allowed and not allowed apps. We removed Mobicip and got everything back and then added Mobicip and it was working fine until his blocked time was over in the morning. Now a lot of important apps are missing like messages and the App Store. When I go to settings I don't see anything that is not allowed. Please help ASAP.

Re: Apps disappeared after blocked time over

It's highly unlikely for Mobicip to cause app deletion in a device. Some setting in your account could be the cause. Please make sure that the option 'Approved Apps only' is not enabled for the specific profile as this could be the reason for your issue. Access to all system apps like Safari, Messages and Camera will be blocked by default when Approved apps only option is enabled in your Mobile app settings. To check this, please login  into your Mobicip account > Family > Mobile Apps > Advanced Settings > Uncheck Approved apps only, block the specific apps as per your requirement and check if it helps.
