25 minute limit

On two different airlines, I was watching the free TV on my iPad on a long flight, and a window appeared saying, "You have used up your 25 minutes".  The airline said they never heard that complaint before, so I think it might be my filtering software.  The two airlines had very different TV systems and different web addresses.  Oddly enough, on the first airline, the TV continued playing but with that irritating window in the way; on the second airline, the TV show stopped completely.  It was a documentary about birds of paradise.

Re: 25 minute limit

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. Please note that, only in airplanes and other hotspots, Mobicip offers a 25 minute window (per day) to get connected to the internet. The hotspot window is not meant to be used for regular browsing since it is unfiltered.

Mobicip's hotspot mode is intended to allow the user to accept any agreements that public WiFi hotspot providers put up when you try to use the service, for instance at Starbucks. Since iOS3.x, Apple has added hotspot mode support in the device operating system itself. When the device connects to a hotspot with an agreement, iOS will bring up an agreement page.

The hotspot mode is meant to pop-up when you are on a network that requires an agreement or login. If your network does not have such a feature, it probably means that your network is being filtered already. Please configure the network filtering to allow the following domains:
mobicip.net
mobicip.com
This will ensure that traffic to Mobicip's servers is allowed uninterrupted. It should also solve your hotspot mode problem.

Please try this and let us know if the problem is resolved now. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.

25 minute limit

We use this for travel on the road. We use it on an iTouch.  We can only access the internet through wi-fi and hotspots in airports/hotels. Is there a way to extend that limit?

Thanks,

Lisa

Hello Lisa,

mobicip.net
mobicip.com

If you have our latest version of app, then you will be able to turn this off by going to Settings >> turning OFF the option 'Check for Hotspots'.

Re: 25 minute limit

We are sorry for the trouble. If you can please let us know the exact thing that happens when you try to turn off the option, we will guide you further accordingly.

Give it a try one more time and check if it works now. Please launch Mobicip app > Settings > turn OFF the  option 'Check for Hotspots' under General Section.

Hot spot

We too,are having the same exact issue. My children use your browser and I have taken safari off of their devices, so on the airplanes that allow for free internet/tv it stops after 25 mins. Very frustrating! We have tried turning the option off, with no luck, it still happens. If this can't be resolved we can't keep using your product.
