Can mobicip limit application usage based on time? To prevent over usage of games? Does anyone know of a program that does this?

Thanks.

Re: Can mobicip limit application usage based on time?

Unfortunately, Mobicip's filter works only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, we are not allowed to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple/Android mobile devices.

In other words, Mobicip will not be able to retrict/monitor other apps in the device.

The feature that I'd like to

The feature that I'd like to have is NOT that Mobicip monitors the activity on other apps but prevents overusage. Right now, with the software you can limit or not the usage of single apps. It would be nice to have a feature that will limit the usage of apps based on timing.

Re: The feature that I'd like to

Hello Ivan
We understand your concern but as mentioned in the above post, we can't control other apps in the device. In other words, Mobicip cannot block usage of other apps on specific time settings. This is due to the limitations of the OS.

Block apps based on time

This is also my number one request. I would like to permit 30min of YouTube per day (via app or web) -- and my main concerns are Chromebook first and iOS second.

Users can already login to the Mobicip website to manage permission to the YouTube app and website, and push those changes down to the device -- and thos changes can be done at any time, and are pushed down to the device in realtime, as soon as the parent logs into the website to request to change the permission

So I don't understand why Mobicip can't push down changes to block or permit based on a given schedule, as opposed to requiring the parent to manually log in to push the edits down. That seems like something that is totally doable by Mobicip.
