YouTube filtering on Chromebooks - doesn't work?

Forums:

  • Technical Support

It is not clear at all from your website describing the features of Mobicip whether or not the feature is specifically available on Chromebooks or not.

I hunted down in your website a section where you describe the ability to do filtering for YouTube but it links me to instructions on how to do this for iphone & ipod touch.  Am I suppossed to assume that means you do not offer this feature for anything other than iphone and ipod touch?

I have not gotten in and

I have not gotten in and successfully connected our Chromebooks to our Mobicip profiles and it appears as though this is working.  When we go to YouTube there seems to be filtering happening.  I am curious what the instructions are for on the other platforms and why they don't exist for Chromebooks?  Are there more filtering options for other platforms but not for Chromebooks?  Because it does seem that YouTube filtering works with Chromebooks.

Re: I have not gotten in and

Hello crystalaww
Please note that Mobicip filtering for Youtube will work on Chromebooks as well. Mobicip filters YouTube by reviewing the title, description, comments and other meta information associated with each video. In most cases, the publisher would include suggestive words and phrases with the video and it would be blocked by Mobicip. Like any filtering product, Mobicip filters the content on a best effort basis and goes beyond most other products in terms of the quality of filtering. Mobicip is the only filtering product that offers YouTube filtering on a video-by-video basis. So, please try accessing youtube.com through Mobicip browser app and see its effectiveness in terms of filtering inappropriate content.

In case the filtering is not working, send an email to our Email Support via your registered email id. We will check your account for the possible cause.
