Re: Streaming services like Netflix

We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Please note that our filtering is a cloud based dynamic system. Any website request raised from the device will be routed to our nearest server, filtered and then rendered access on the device. We filter each website based on the content on the page at the time of access. Our dynamic filter works on algorithms that gives weightage to each questionable word and when the number of those inappropriate words in a specific webpage exceed the limit, the filter will block the page. So, please be assured that inappropriate content will be blocked by Mobicip.

Netflix

Hi,

Netflix displays a proxy server message when my son tries to access any cont. This only happened since I put mobicip on the laptop. Is there a way around it from mobicip point of view?

Thank you

Hi

Hi

Just wondered if there is any progress on this. I contacted Netflix and they told me I would need to get rid of Mobicip, if it is that that is appearing as a Proxy.

As you can imagine, not being able to access Netflix isn't very popular around here.

Are other people able to access Netflix OK? Is there something that we are doing differently?

Best Regards

Anna Butler

Netflix and Time management

If the time management restrictions have been set for internet usage will that include streming of movies or TV shows through the netflix app or does it only apply to internet usage that uses the mobicip browser? I need to limit the usage of netflix during certain hours but I'm not sure if the time management feature will apply if Netflix is being accesed through the netflix app. If not then I don't see how the answer to the previous question can be accurate. If netflix can be monitored for language and content with mobicip (noting that t is not using the mobicip browser) then the time management should apply as well.

Please clarify

Re: Netflix and Time management

Hello Bobbie
Please note that Mobicip's filter works only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, we are not allowed to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple's/Android mobile devices.

In other words, Mobicip cannot restrict/monitor activities done through other apps in the device. We would just love to solve the problem if we are allowed to do so. Absent such intent, what Mobicip offers is a solution that works under the right circumstances. We understand that this is a limited solution. But for what its worth, hundreds of thousands of parents continue to use the product.

netflix

I  have placed Netfix on the white list of websites on my filter.  I can get Netflix to open, but the webpage has no movies to select and is not functional.  Do you have a resolution for this?  Thanks.

Netflix

I'm having the same issue with Netflix. My daughter can't get it to run on her chromebook. I guess if there's no resolution. It would be best for me to remove the mobicip software and discontinue the service.
