In a different way from the 'how does it work' link above.
The way that mobicip filters makes sense to me, but how does my account on thsi website, and your filter effect my browsing? On the netbook version (which isn't released yet) is mobicip run as a proxy, or a DNS server?
My question really is, with my ISP there are certain sites that I can access without using up my monthly quota (i.e. a download mirror and some video/audio sites). Will using mobicip mean that all my internet traffic will be routed through your proxy/DNS and thus will not appear to come from inside the ISPs network, meaning that I can't access these sites 'quota free'?

Not sure

We will need to study the scenario you present. Our solution is offered as a managed service, so the issue you bring up could potentially happen. Having said that, we are also putting in optimization algorithms that could ensure that you are not using up your quota.
It will be interesting to see how the ISP deal's with Mobicip's service and how the traffic gets categorized. We will try and involve you early in the beta rollout to confirm your suspicion.

Mobicip = Proxy server?
Hi,
My ISP offers free streaming video because it is a cable company. But with mobicip installed the free streaming video will not work anymore. Is this because mobicip presents a spoofed ip address for my computer? Is there a way to change this so that mobicip will act as a transparent proxy?
Please let me know.
Thanks.
