Hi my kids have enjoyed playing on minecraft for some time now, but since i put Mobicip on the computer they have not been allowed to access the game.  I have tried to put the url's into the whitelist, but it stil does not allow access to the game.

I notice that the url for the game updater http://mcupdate.tumblr.com is filtered out as Porn!

Any help getting my kids back onto minecraft would be welcomed.  If we cannot over come the problem, I may have to request a refund...

Many thanks.

Re: Minecraft

We are sorry for the trouble you are having with accessing Minecraft. Please note that our dev team is actively working on a fix and a new beta version of Mobicip with the fix will be made available soon. We really appreciate your help and patience as we work towards your satisfaction.

Since the website tumblr.com mostly has adult content, our filtering team decided to block it totally for all three levels of filtering (based on the request raised by several users). This is the reason why the website mcupdate.tumblr.com was blocked for reason 'Porn'. It may require further investigation for fine tuning our filter for the website. We do not have a definite time frame on when we will roll out an update for this, but will keep you posted on any updates regarding this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Meanwhile, you can try adding it to your white-list and check if it helps. Please login to your Mobicip account at www.mobicip.com >> Filter Profiles >> select Edit for specific profile >> Websites >> Whitelist (Allow) Websites >> add mcupdate.tumblr.com and click on 'ADD TO ALLOW LIST'.

Please let us know if this answers your question. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.

Minecraft

That doesn't do anything it just allows the game to launch.  The servers still don't work and when a single player world loads the whole game crashes.

Re: Minecraft

We are sorry for the trouble you have been facing. Our dev team is actively working on the new version and we expect it to be ready by next month. Meanwhile, if you don't mind, you can disable Mobicip temporarily to let your kid to play Minecraft. Please double click on the Mobicip icon >> enter your account credentials >> Select the option 'Disabled'. This will disable Mobicip. You can re-enable it back once you are done playing. We understand this is a crude word around but we appreciate your patience as we work towards your satisfaction.

whitelist not updating

I've added to the whitelist:

  • mcupdate.tumblr.com
  • s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download

Still not allowing the update files to download.  Since it won't even launch, I can't verify whether the Tumblr page is working.

Three BSOD since I installed MobicIP this afternoon.  And, I'm forced to pay for the full program because the free version does not allow any whitelisting.

What is the time interval for updates?  Is this a lookup or a push to the client?

I know this is an old thread,

I know this is an old thread, but this is still a problem. I have whitelisted the items (update and tumblr) indicated by the original poster but the game constantly crashes and/or is unplayable with Mobicip. Also, Mobicip does not block any Google images as it claims. I believe we will not be renewing our subscription--we have been sorely disappointed with this product.

Minecraft

It seems there hasn't been anything done to fix the issues with minecraft.  This is such a popular game for kids and I have not spent hours trying to figure out how to fix it until I came across this blog.  Has it been fixed yet??

Thanks

Re: Minecraft

Hello Mindy
We are terribly sorry for the delay in getting the Windows update ready for your use. Please be assured that our engineers are working doubly hard to get this version out the door. We ran into a number of unexpected engineering problems (some of which we needed help from Microsoft to resolve) and that is the only reason for the delay. There is no lack of intent or urgency here, it is just that some engineering problems are complex and require time to investigate and fix.

Also, the Minecraft issue has been fixed in this version. The update is in the QA process to make sure it is of sufficient quality to be delivered to you. You have waited patiently for so long. Please bear with us a few more days and we will let you know as soon as the update is available.
