You filtering policy says that Elementary blocks social networking sites. However, after installing Mobicip, I was able to use Safari to access Facebook. What am I doing wrong?
Depends on the type of app and the type of link in question. Apps may display links to facebook and myspace, but if you click on the link, it will launch Safari. Since we recommend that you disable Safari and use Mobicip instead, the link will simply not launch anything.
The answer to your question is yes. As long as Mobicip is the only window to the Internet from the device, you are safe. To ensure that parental control settings have been enabled correctly, follow the steps in this article.
Does the time of day restrictions apply to Facebook Application that does NOT link to Safari? It appears not too. I have turned off Safari yet the FB application still works during restricted time. Is it just not possible?
Mobicip's filter and its settings work only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device including the Facebook app or Safari. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, Apple does not allow us to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple's mobile devices.

You need to disable Safari
Hello compushine
Mobicip is a separate application that you use in lieu of Safari. To disable Safari, follow the instructions in this article.

I noticed that within certain apps are links to Facebook or even MySpace...can it bypass Mobicip?
