Mobicip for WebOS

Submitted by DOC on Fri, 12/09/2011 - 12:20

I bought $99 HP touchpads for the kids for christmas, any chance of making mobicip work on these? I just saw that HP has granted the open source for WebOS. http://gizmodo.com/5866723/webos-lives I saw an article stating that you had made the software to do it but were waiting for HP response. forums.hpwebos.com/t5/webOS-Software/Parental-control-software-for-WebOS/td-p/255956/page/2 "It is encouraging to see support for parental controls from the Palm user community. Mobicip.com - a popular internet filter for mobile devices - has a parental controls solution for Web OS. However, it is a kernel level solution and we need HP/Palm to deploy the solution as it cannot be installed by end users for security and access privilege reasons. We have tried to get in touch with the dev team several times but with no success. If someone from Palm sees this message, please contact Mobicip at contact@mobicip.com. We will work with you to solve this problem for parents and educators." does this mean you will be able to make mobicip available for WebOS soon? What are your plans? Thanks Donald

Update on version for web OS?

Submitted by bowmans1 on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 12:56

Any update on agreeing a version with Palm/HP for web OS?

I don't want my subscription to be renewed automatically. I want to be given the option of chosing if I want to renew it or stop it. How do I do that? Or shall I just have to give my bank the order to stop payments?

Mobicip for iPad

Submitted by youthdude on Thu, 03/25/2010 - 12:35

Are you currently developing mobicip for the iPad? I have one arriving on April 3 and would like to have mobicip as the browser.

Premium subscribers now have the ability to send activity reports by email. If you are interested in trying out in this feature before it goes live officially, you can access the preview version by clicking on this link.

Setup the frequency and other settings, and you should start receiving the reports. If you have any feedback on the settings UI, or the report format itself, please let us know. Your feedback and support is much appreciated.

Mobicip Crew

I was wondering what the plans were for a Mobicip program on the Google Android 2.0 OS?

We are happy to announce that the latest version (2.1.0) of Mobicip Safe Browser for iPhone and iPod Touch has been approved by Apple and is now available on the App Store. This is a major update and we have worked hard to make this version clean and stable. The new version has several new features, from the superficial to the internals.

New Icon - Believe it or not, this was the top requested change from parents. Older kids found the icon with smiley faces patronizing, while younger kids loved the eye candy. So we agonized over a replacement icon and finally settled on a generic one. Hope everyone likes it this time.

Mobicip New Icon

Tabs / Windows - Anyone who has used Safari Mobile would have grown to love the tabs or windows. Now you can have multiple tabs open at your fingertips and switch between them with ease. Sites like Google News will automatically launch in another tab, hold down any link to open it in a new tab, and you can always use the New Tab button to open one.

Tabs

Save Images - Press and hold any image and these buttons should pop up, allowing you to copy the image and paste it elsewhere or email it.

Mobicip Save Images

Persistent Cookies - Login at your favorite websites and the Mobicip browser will remember the login information between sessions so you don't have to login again.

Copy & Paste - Have fun with the new copy and paste features in iPhone OS 3.0 within the Mobicip browser. Copy links from emails and paste it in the Mobicip Browser's URL bar. Select and copy content, and paste it in your email.

Copy & Paste

Blazing Performance - Ignoring all the features, the most valuable update in this version is subtle and will be perceived rather than seen. The Mobicip browser should now be as fast, if not faster, than Safari Mobile in terms of speed.

Please update the app and let us know what you think. Your feedback helps shape our solution. Thanks to all the beta users, especially Dylan and Eric, for your enthusiastic feedback and participation!

We are excited to announce that a new version of Mobicip Safe Browser is being reviewed by Apple. We have several users trying out the new version as part of a limited private beta and giving us some excellent feedback. Some of them even posted reviews on iTunes. We have tried really hard to address the critical issues and respond to top requests from our users.

At this time, we are expanding the beta program to all interested Mobicip users. If you can't wait to get your hands on the next version that includes a lot of the great features that you have been asking for, don't mind a little bit of hassle in setting it up, and would be happy to pass on your feedback to us, please let us know. Please include the device UDID in your request (instructions below).

- To find your iPod Touch's UDID, just plug it into your computer and wait until iTunes recognizes it.
- Select your iPod Touch from the Devices list in iTunes.
- Click the "Summary" tab.
- To see your UDID, click on the word "serial number" beside the picture of the iPod Touch.
- You should see the word "identifer" and an alphanumeric string – this is your UDID.
- To copy it, just press command + C on your Mac's keyboard (or control + C in Windows).
Paste the UDID in your email.

We are happy to announce that our 2.0.3 update has been approved by Apple. What's new in this version

- Better support for WiFi hotspots that need an agreement

- Enforces strict safe search on multiple search engines

- Restores support for iPhone and iPod Touch with the older OS 2.2.1. This has been a top faq in the recent past. Users who do not wish to upgrade to the new iPhone OS 3.0 can continue to use the Mobicip Safe Browser with all of its newest features.

Please go ahead and download the latest update (FREE for everyone who has Mobicip already) and let us know what you think!

Does Mobicip require iPhone OS 3.0 update?

Submitted by Suren on Thu, 06/18/2009 - 10:15

Mobicip Safe Browser 2.0.2 version temporarily requires the latest iPhone OS 3.0 update.

NOTE: The OS 3.0 requirement is a temporary problem due to an error in our app's approval process. Please bear with us and we will restore OS 2.2.1 compatibility so that users who do not wish to upgrade to OS 3.0 can download and use Mobicip.

We highly recommend that you upgrade your device to OS 3.0 since it includes advanced parental control settings that were not available in the previous version. To update your device, follow the instructions on the following Apple pages. iPhone users get to upgrade to the latest OS for free, whereas iPod Touch users will be charged $9.99.

Adult Apps

Is Mobicip able to block "Adult Apps"...After setting my sons I- touch to the "Middle School" filter level, I was still able to preview a sample of a  app called "Hot Girls"...even though I did not purchase it....thx....Tracy

While we have been waiting patiently for Apple to approve our iPod touch/iPhone solution, we have been hard at work developing a solution for the netbook market.  A beta version is coming soon for Linux-based netbooks.  If you would like to participate in this limited time free offer, please do one of the following:

1) For new visitors - Sign up here and choose the Netbook platform.

2) For registered guests - Send us an email by clicking here.

These low-powered devices are perfect for students who just need a computer to surf the web, send email, and write papers.  However, too many applications start running on the netbook and performance issues arise quickly.  The Mobicip solution is designed to take the filtering process off the device.  Our web portal will also handle the majority of the data, preserving the netbook's precious processing power to do whatever your child wants, whether it's to watch a movie or do homework.  If you know of anybody who's family has a netbook and would like to participate, please let them know about our site!  Thanks so much!

Feature Requests

Submitted by geneucla on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 13:12

Hello,

We have started receiving some feedback from our testers, so I thought I would start a discussion forum for users to add feature requests.  While our initial efforts have been to provide a functioning, yet basic solution to the marketplace, we would love to learn which features our customers want the most; that way we can prioritize which improvements to work on for upcoming releases.  Feel free to add to this thread; while you may not get an immediate response, know that we will be monitoring this thread closely.
