youtube filtering

I spoke with your tech today and I am finally able to access the YouTube HTML site using Mobicip, on my IPod Touch. The Mobicip Filter does not appear to be working correctly, in that I've seen no evidence of "This video was blocked by Mobicip", as shown in your tutorial. To test the filter, I searched for different videos using an "adult" keyword and the message displayed stated "there are no such videos available", without any mention of Mobicip. Music videos with very explicit lyrics and song titles, are not blocked by Mobicip and are accessible to my 10 year old son. For instance when I search for "Eminem Explicit", several videos appear and are viewable, despite the warning that the video contains explicit lyrics. Some of the titles even have the "F Word" in the title, yet are readily displayed and viewable. Please advise me as to how to fix this.

Re: youtube filtering

Hello medicmurf@hotma...

We are sorry for the continued trouble you are having. We just checked your account and found that

m.youtube.com

is on your whitelist. When a website or domain is added to your whitelist, Mobicip will allow unfiltered access to that site. That is why you were able to access content on YouTube without any protection. If you follow the instructions in this tutorial closely, it provides instructions to setup Mobicip to filter YouTube. Please note that adding youtube.com to the whitelist defeats the purpose entirely. When we contacted you over the phone the other day, we had removed all YouTube domains from your whitelist. Perhaps we missed this one entry or perhaps you added it back to the list, which is why it was not being filtered as expected.

We have now corrected your whitelist. You should be able to notice the change and see that inappropriate videos on YouTube are indeed being blocked. If you think the filter is not being effective, try to set the filtering level at Elementary school and see if it filters YouTube better.

NOTE: Please allow about 15 mins for any change made on the website to be propagated to the device. We think this delay might have caused the confusion in the first place.

Let us know if the problem is resolved now. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.
