White lists not working

Posted: Sat, 03/13/2010 - 21:39

I have not been able to get my whitelist (allowed sites) to work. For instance, I added www.friv.com to my whitelist, but still get blocked when trying to access this on the iTouch. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have read with interest through this forum in respect to whitlist and URL issues.

I would like my child to be able to use the following website http://www.instructables.com i have tried with and without the http and www and on its own, you will find that the main site actually does work, however we wish to allow acess to sites which are for knex guns, so if you do a search for knex guns you will find that many instructions are on the instructables.com web site.

They cannot be seen via mobicip, even if you enter the full address and remove retrictions for adverts and guns, which I dont wish to have turned off.

I noted that some time has to be given for the settings to get transfered however im still waiting and its several hours, any sugestions.

Whitelist sites still blocked

I searched your forum and found an article that described the issue but I am still having the problem. The whitelist settings don't seem to be pushing to my child's iPod touch. I have added both www.amazon.com and just amazon.com and they both still get blocked.

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. Please note that it may take up to 30 minutes for any changes you make on the web monitor to reflect on the device. So, we suggest that you give it a try one more time and check if your customized settings are working fine now.

If the time criteria is met and the problem still persists, please let us know your registered email id or send an email to support(at)mobicip.com through your registered email id. We will look into your account, isolate the cause of the issue and guide you accordingly.

Apologies for the late response to this post. We are sorry that you are having trouble setting up the whitelist.

Actually, instead of adding

www.friv.com

to your whitelist, add it as

friv.com

This is because many websites do not use the www versions for iPhone and other mobile browsers. The website is usually m.friv.com or similar.

Please try this and let us know if the problem is resolved. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.

I'm unable to get https://outlook.brooklyn.cuny.edu to work on my whitelist.  Any ideas?

We are sorry for the trouble you are having.

This is not a problem with https per se. Most https sites will work as expected as long as they are publicly accessible over the Internet. It appears that this URL points to a hosted Outlook server. Is there any way for us to get setup with a dummy account? If you're not sure, please send us the contact information for the administrator of the website. We do routinely test such sites with some help from administrators and resolve any issues we find.

Please bear with us and we will try to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

Jeez, I have no clue.  This is an important site as it's the way we check work email remotely.  Thanks for trying to help; solving this problem may determine whether we can use mobicip at all.

This may be the way to contact the administrator, not sure:

We did identify a problem with https authentication and have since fixed it. You should now be able to access this website and use it from the Mobicip browser.

Thanks for highlighting this problem to us, so we could fix it for all users. Your feedback and support is much appreciated.

That's so nice of you, but it still doesn't work.  :(  I can get past the first screen, but when I go to log in, I get "unexpected error."
