Parent Log On
Submitted by Guest on
I just installed Mobicip for Windows 7. When I click on the icon it brings me to the parent logon. I log on and it brings me to the filter settings asks to select a user. When I do it says " Failed to save settings! Please try again." I have tried with both children's names andkeep getting the same message. What do I need to do to make this work?

We are sorry for the trouble you are having.
This issue has been reported by a handful of users. Unfortunately, we are not able to reproduce the problem on our test systems to be able to resolve it. It appears that there is something in your permissions or the software installed on the computer that is causing the problem.
We would really appreciate the opportunity to troubleshoot the problem over a phone call. Please send an email to support(at)mobicip.com with your phone number and suggest a good time for the call. Thanks for your patience and we are hopeful that the issue can be resolved.

Failed to Save Settings
Submitted by Guest on
We are experiencing the exact same problem. The program doesn't work at all simply because you can't save the settings when you set it up. There's not much to it except the error message that says, "Failed to save settings! Please try again." We can't get it to work. We have a new HP Machine, Windows 7, obviously...
Any help would be appreciated, we want this to work.

We are happy to announce that our dev team has fixed the 'Failed to save settings' error that stopped quite a few of our beta testers from testing Mobicip for Windows beta. We appreciate your patience as we worked and resolved this issue. Please go ahead and un-install the older version of Mobicip for Windows beta that you have on your device and install the new version that is available on the Mobicip page:
How to Setup Internet Parental Controls on Windows 7
In case you come across issues during the installation process, please send an email to Mobicip Support and we will investigate the issue asap.
Installation problem as well.

Downloading Beta for Windows 7
Submitted by Guest on
When I try to email Mobicic for info on downloading the
Windows Beta 7 version it says I don't have the proper email client installed/setup. What is the proper email client?
Re: Downloading Beta for Windows 7

When you get the message 'You do not have the proper email client installed/setup', it means that you do not have any email client like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird set up to open up a 'Compose mail' page. Please send an email to support(at)mobicip.com from your Email account like Gmail/Yahoomail and we usually respond to our customer queries within 24 hours.

Mixed results on filtering and Mobicip update not downloading
Submitted by Guest on
I had the same "Failed to save setting" error for the first couple of weeks of my beta testing but since early April have had the appropriate version installed. I have had mixed results trying to set the filtering for the elementary level, mostly with YouTube, but was also able to access some inapprpriate sites through google. I understand that the Windows 7 version is still beta testing, but would like some more detailed instructions on customizing and what the filtering terms mean to the application. My beta access is expiring soon but will try to post any success that I have in eliminating some of the unwanted access.
Also, I have been recvieving a message every tie the machine reboots that there is an updated version available, asking if I wish to download and install it. I have responded YES each time, but is doesn;t seem to either download or install. I have not tried downloading directly from the website to see if that eliminates the message.

Thanks for your feedback!
was also able to access some inapprpriate sites through google.
Can you give us more specific information on the sites that were incorrectly allowed? Sometimes, the search is allowed but the sites that show up are blocked when you try to access them. If a site or sites were incorrectly allowed, please let us know the search keyword or phrase, the sites that were allowed, and the time of access. We will investigate the problem immediately and try to resolve it.

Hmmm... that is good feedback. We do have some tutorials and videos on setting up the Premium service.
How To Customize Mobicip's Internet Filter
How To Monitor Browsing Activity Using Mobicip
We will work on creating more or better content that can help you with your customization.

This sounds like a more serious problem. Please contact us using the contact form or email us at support(at)mobicip.com with your registered email and we will investigate further.
We really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for trying the beta and reporting these issues.

Mobicip on Windows 7 - 64 bit Service Pack 1
Submitted by Guest on
When I installed Mobicip on my Windows 7 - 64 bit operating system (which has service pack 1 installed), I ran into the following issues when running Explorer V8.
1) Pages would frequently fail to open displaying an error. (such as Google.com)
2) Closing the broswer and reopening it would sometimes correct the propblem and the page would then open.
3) Even when it has succeeded in openning a page, if a different page is browsed to it frequently would not open (like 1 above).
4) Closing the broswer and reopenning it (like in 2) sometimes would allow the page to open.
5) Infrequently when browsing to a page, a totally different unrelated page is instead openned.
6) Infrequently when clicking on a link of a page, the browser fails to respond. Repeatedly clicking the link has no result. When this happens all links on the page seem to not respond.
7) All above mentioned problems go away once Mobicip is uninstalled.
Before offering any suggestion please realize that I myself am a software developer for the PC and have worked with this platform since the early 80's. I have also written Sockets based applications on the Windows platform and have a fairly good knowledge of ethernet. So please don't suggest re-installing the software, checking my cables, or other rudimentary solutions.
Personally, I'm very disappointed in this product and feel I just waisted the subscription fee.

Premium Account for Win7 PC, Mobicip doesn't work
Submitted by Guest on
I have a premium account on my daughter's iPhone and her Windows 7 laptop. It has been working fine on the iPhone 3 until Oct 19. I am getting weekly reports. However, in the 3 months that i have had Mobicip premium on her laptop, it has never recorded any activity. I also cannot log on with the icon on the desktop. I have to open IE and go to the Mobicip website to log on. What gives?

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. If you can please give us a little more information including the error message with error code (if any) that you get when trying to login to Mobicip, we will investigate further asap. We suspect that some software installed in your computer is blocking Mobicip's traffic and hence reports were not generated for the device.
We feel that this issue can be better handled over the phone. So, please send us an email to support@mobicip.com via your registered - email id with your phone number and a good time to call. One of our support experts will get in touch with you at the appointed time. It would better if you have access to the specific computer at the time of the call.
We really appreciate your help and patience as we work on fixing this issue.
