Mobicip.com's Premium users can now setup time limits for Internet access by following the link below
http://www.mobicip.com/portal/settings/time_limits.
NOTE: Please bookmark this link in your browser as there are no navigational links to this page at this time from the WebMonitor portal. Based on the feedback we receive from this beta rollout to the interest list, we will make the feature widely available to all Premium users.

Setup Steps
You should find it fairly intuitive to use this feature. Follow the steps below if you need help.
1. First select the user profile for which you want to setup time limits for.
2. To block access during a particular time, click the green cell for that particular day and time. A gray box with the x indicates that Internet access is blocked during that period. In the example above, I have blocked access between 10 pm - 12 am on Monday.
3. To block access for a particular time block every day, click the down arrow for that column. You will see that the entire time column will be disabled. In the example above, I have blocked access between 5 am and 8 am on all days of the week.
4. To block access on any day of the week, simply click the day of the week on the left side of the table. In the example above, I have completely blocked access on Thursday.
That is it! You have setup Internet access time limits for this user profile! If the user tries to access the web during the blocked time, a message to that effect will be displayed.

Time limit does not work
Submitted by Guest on
Hello, I have tried to block access at a given time, it did not work. So I blocked all hours of the day because it could have been due to differences in time zones but still internet access on the ipad is working ?
Thanks

We are sorry for the trouble you are having. Please note that it may take up to 30-45 mins for any change that you make on the web monitor to reflect on the device. If this condition is met and still the issue persists, please let us know your Mobicip-registered email id or send us an email to support@mobicip.com through your registered email id and we will investigate your account asap. Also, please make sure that you check this on Mobicip app and not on any other native app available on the device.
This is because, Mobicip's filter and its Premium features will work only on the Mobicip Safe Browser and not on any other apps available on the device including Safari. While we would like to make our filtering service work with other apps on the device, Apple does not allow us to create software that runs in the background. Hence, we had to create our own browser to provide filtered internet access. Please note that this is the case with any other internet filter available for Apple's mobile devices.
We really appreciate your help and patience as we work towards your satisfaction.
time limit question
Submitted by Guest on
I am thinking about purchasing this product, but would like to know if it supports time limits? Specifically, I would like to limit my 13 year old to using the internet on his iphone to 2 hours a day. I know that I limit the hours of the day, but with the 10am to 9pm timeframe, again I want to set a maximum time limit of any 2 hours.
Please advise.

As of now, we only have the option of blocking internet access through Mobicip for specific time slots of a day. We do not have the option of restricting internet based on cumulative limits. We are planning to implement the aggregate time limit feature as a part of our next update, Mobicip 3.0. We do not have a definite time frame on when we will roll out this update, but we will keep you posted. Thank you for bringing this feature to our attention.
Time Limits - Mobicip 3.0?

We are very interested in cumulative time limits that you describe as being available in Mobicip 3.0. Is there any update on when this will be available?

Hi Julie,
After we made changes to our filtering servers to filter Youtube videos (we made an announcement regarding this), we have allowed Youtube at all three filtering levels. Please note that the filtering will be very stringent at the elementary level and will allow a few more video categories at the middle school level and will be even more lenient in the high school level.
Please note that Mobicip filters YouTube by reviewing the title, description, comments and other meta information associated with each video. In most cases, the publisher would include suggestive words and phrases with the video and it would be blocked by Mobicip. Like any filtering product, Mobicip filters the content on a best effort basis and goes beyond most other products in terms of the quality of filtering. Mobicip is the only filtering product that offers YouTube filtering on a video-by-video basis. So, please try accessing youtube.com through Mobicip and see its effectiveness in terms of filtering inappropriate content.
You can restrict Youtube videos based on the categories in which they fall. Our Mobicip Premium subscription allows you to allow/block a specific Youtube category for each child user. Please note that these categories are allocated by Youtube.
Please let us know if this answers your question. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.
