How Do I Assign A Device to Each Child

Posted: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 15:33

My children are glad that they finally have a service where they can use the internet on their iTouches. I purchased a premium subscription for two devices, but on the website they are both assigned to one child and the second child has no devices assigned to them. How do I manage this so that each child has their device assigned to them?

So I've installed the program and am trying to disable Safari, but can't enter a 4 digit passcode. I never set one, yet the program keeps telling me I've entered the wrong one. How can I set the passcode? Was I provided with a default passcode at the website to start?

Thanks

How to Assign a Device to a Child in Mobicip?

Though you can add multiple child users to your account from the website, assigning a child user to a device has to be done from the iTouch itself.

- Launch the Mobicip browser on the iTouch that belongs to the user you want to assign it to.
- Touch the info button at the bottom right.
- Select Settings. You should see a list of users setup in your account.
- Select the target child user from this list.
- You will be asked to verify your account username and password.
- Now the new child user should be assigned to this device.

Please let us know if this answers your question. Otherwise we will be happy to assist further.

It can take up to 15 mins for changes to settings to be applied to the device. Please close the browser and launch it again, and you should see the new user when you select info > Settings.

How do I add more than 1 child to use Mobicip?

I have successfully loaded 1 app onto an Itouch. I am having trouble loading this same app to my second child's itouch.  I sync both of their Itouch's through the same I tunes account.  However, I can only add this app to one child's Itouch.  I was able to add another use through Mobicip in my parent account. But I cannot get the app to load on the second Itouch, even with multiple re-synching.  Please advise.

Try installing from App Store on the device

Hmm... It is indeed odd that you are able to sync the app with the second iTouch, but Mobicip is not getting installed. Try this:

1. Launch iTunes and sync the device with it.

2. In the left hand column of iTunes, select the device.

3. On the main panel of iTunes, select the Applications tab. You should see a scrollable list of applications downloaded in your account.

4. Scroll down this list and select Mobicip. If the checkbox next to Mobicip is unchecked, go ahead and check this.

5. Click the Sync button at the bottom of the screen.

You should see Mobicip being installed on the device. If this doesn't help, you may want to try installing Mobicip from the App Store on the device itself. Follow the instructions in this tutorial.
