Listen to Your Parents and the The iPhone Mom

Heather Leister, the iPhone Mom, wrote about Mobicip this week and we are happy to share her thoughts. We encourage you to read the entire article here: http://www.theiphonemom.com/mobicip

Heather shares: "My personal feeling is you can never be too careful when it comes to children and the internet. We have a rule in our house that the kids can’t have computers in their bedrooms. We also have a rule that we have access to all passwords. Call me overprotective but that’s my job. If I have these rules when it comes to the computer then I also have to establish rules when it comes to their new iPod Touches. When you think about it, they are not that far removed from a personal computer so putting a filtering app on the kids’ devices is a non-decision for me. Whether they like it or not."

Parental Controls for Amazon Kindle Fire Available From Mobicip

Mobile Web Filter for Android Thousand Oaks, CA – As devices like Kindle Fire grow in popularity, parents’ concern about what their children are viewing online is growing as well.  Mobicip, the leading Internet content filtering and parental controls service for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Windows 7 and Linux (laptops or desktops) wants to make sure today’s kids safely use the mobile web. In response to popular demand, Mobicip released parental controls specifically for the Amazon Kindle Fire this month.

“We’ve seen a lot of outpour over the excitement of Amazon’s Kindle Fire by parents in forums and articles,” says Suren Ramasubbu, CEO and Founder of Mobicip, “But because some apps like Facebook cannot be removed by the user, it is imperative that third party parental controls are installed to make the experience appropriate for their age level.  With Mobicip, kids can safely and securely use these devices when parents install our dynamic content filtering.

Available for Kindle Fire, smartphones, and other tablet devices, Mobicip’s Safe Browser app allows children to access the web in a way that suits their age. An optional Premium service allows parents or administrators to customize the content filtering and monitor the Internet activity online.

“We had such a strong request by parents who were gifting their kids with devices like Kindle Fire to offer our parental controls and online content filtering over the holiday season.  Because of this, we expedited our Kindle Fire filtering solution to ensure these gifts were used in a way that omits content that parents don’t want their kids to see.” said Ramasubbu.

Parental Controls and Mobile Web Filter for the Kindle Fire

Mobile web filter for Kindle Fire Thank you Daniel Eran Dilger from AppleInsider.com for sharing important information regarding parental controls for the recently released Amazon Kindle Fire. In the article, Parents compain Amazon's Kindle Fire gives kids acces to porn, accounts, Mr. Dilger shares, "Amazon delivered its low cost Kindle Fire tablet primarily as a way for users to browse and buy digital content, but it omitted parental controls that can block access to pornography, explicit content or allow unattended kids to 'charge up a storm' on their parents' account."

He also includes important feedback from "Caryn Talty, a parent blogger at HealthyFamily.org noted that while the Kindle Fire was a 'very cool, sleek electronic toy,' it 'has no parental monitoring safeguards installed on the device or available through a software download.'"

This article is important to Mobicip because we value mobile education and we believe that kids deserve to have a safe, secure and educational Internet for their Android smartphone or tablet.  Mobicip Safe Browser offers a mobile web filter for Android smartphones and tablets  (like the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy tablet) so parents can get peace of mind knowing their kids can use the mobile web without being exposed to inappropriate content.

Thousand Oaks, CA - Mobicip.com, the leading Internet filtering and parental control service for mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad as well as Windows 7 and Linux (laptops or desktops) has just announced the launch of Mobicip for Android. On smartphones and tablets, running the Android operating system, Mobicip offers a Safe Browser app that allows children to access the web safely, and an optional Premium service that allows parents or administrators to customize the content filtering and monitor the Internet activity online.

“It was imperative that we launch Mobicip’s Safe Browser for Android before the end of the year for two reasons.” says Mobicip’s Founder and CEO Suren Ramasubbu.  “One, Android OS-based devices like the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy tablet are going mainstream now and being used increasingly by younger users.  Two, as kids are receiving Android devices and tablets for holiday gifts, parents need solutions to ensure these gifts allow only content that is appropriate for the kids’ age. It is easy to setup and manage by the parent so they can rest assured their kids are browsing on these devices without the risk of landing on inappropriate content.”
