How To Write A Review On iTunes App Store?

We get testimonials and feedback from parents on a daily basis. This is wonderful feedback and it makes us feel great, for sure. It also helps us calibrate our priorities and work on the problems that our users want us to focus on.

Often we hear from parents who are thrilled about the Mobicip app, and would like to write a review that can help other parents learn about Mobicip's Online Safety service for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Here is a step-by-step procedure to write an anonymous review on the iTunes App Store. BTW, you can use these steps to write a review for any application or content on iTunes.

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer.
  2. Select the iTunes Store.
  3. Search for 'mobicip'.
  4. Click on 'Mobicip Safe Browser' from the search results.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'WRITE A REVIEW'.
  6. You may have to login into iTunes to submit the review, but you don't have to reveal your username in the review. Enter a pseudonym if you would like to keep you username private.

In Safari, you have the means to switch to a landscape keyboard by simply flipping your device horizontally.  The accelerometer will automatically convert your screen.  Why this wasn't done for email messaging has been a question that many iPod touch and iPhone users have wondered.  Well, it seems like there are a few 3rd party apps found on the App Store to solve this problem.  Here's one that's rated the highest by MacNewsWorld.

The Wide Email application from LizzardWerks has the most features for just $0.99.  If you have trouble typing on the tiny keyboard when your iPod touch or iPhone is vertical, you can now use the Wide Email application to type everything in landscape mode.  This application brings up a screen with a landscape keyboard where you can easily compose new messages or reply to your email messages.

There are other free versions out there, but not with the same type of features that Wide Email provides (Typing Shortcuts, multiple signatures, etc).  You can see the entire review here.

I Can Take Screenshots of my iPhone?!?

Apparently, you can now take screenshots of your iPhone by simply following these two steps:

1) Press and hold down the 'Home Button'

2) Click the 'Mute Button' on the top of your iPhone or iPod touch.

You'll then hear a camera click and it'll be automatically saved into your Camera Roll (for iPhone) or My Saved Photos (on iPod touch).  Personally, I think this is extremely funny.  I've been bugging my partner for WEEKS asking him to send me screenshots from his iPhone simulator on the Mac.  I could have been doing this easily myself!  Ah, the startup blues.

Here's a screenshot of what happens when our parental controls kick in.  This is what is currently displayed in the beta version; this is, of course, subject to change for upcoming releases.

Parental Controls Kick In!

We'll be posting more of our startup challenges here.  Hope you enjoy them!
